I agree with you on the importance of searching out some truths that individually resonate to walk by (for me the simpler the better, I have a history of unnecessarily complicating things), and getting outside (I am envious that you live near the sea, but I have woods and water). I find regret for what I haven't done in the past to be pretty pointless unless it leads to change. So I am planning to start with what I have and let God inhabit it. He'll create the changes.
blessed New Year, DMW Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55532501364780143.post-24581589414773283472013-01-02T12:44:15.755+00:002013-01-02T12:44:15.755+00:00I've often thought how good it would be to hav...I've often thought how good it would be to have a set-aside room for a treadmill and an exercise bike. I thought the book looked interesting so my daughter left it here for me to read, I just picked it up and thought the author name looked familiar, and was sure it was one you had mentioned, and sure enough it is, the author is Eckhart Tolle, the book is called A New Earth. I just had to pop over to your blog to verify that it was E T you had mentioned.

So, I am now off to start reading A New Earth.

Blessings to you,

BeanBeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14484707482492844677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55532501364780143.post-38799927406475654532013-01-01T18:16:55.242+00:002013-01-01T18:16:55.242+00:00Thank you, Maria :0) May 2013 be a GOOD year for ...Thank you, Maria :0) May 2013 be a GOOD year for you and your family xxx

Hi Bruce - so nice to hear from you! I know what you mean about a knee-jerk reaction against fame :0)
Tolle is the only teacher I've come across who's been able to teach me anything on a sustained basis, though I've picked up snippets from others here and there - particularly Thich Nhat Hanh and Ursula le Guin - so I'm mighty grateful to him for being here.Pen Wilcockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13818227904371811230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55532501364780143.post-62816664994011609402013-01-01T17:12:33.533+00:002013-01-01T17:12:33.533+00:00For some reason, which I don't understand, I r...For some reason, which I don't understand, I resist Tolle. I can't point to anything that I don't like, or that he might have done to undermine his own teachings (like the guru that teaches abstinence while merrily seducing adherents). I have dear and trusted friends who think highly of him, and would do nothing to modify their pleasure and interest in his books. And yet ... perhaps it is just a knee-jerk reaction against his fame; I know that fame is not just something that happens, but that one makes happen to some extent. And then there is our culture's tendency to worship fame, as though someone who is well-known is somehow better at what she does than the thousand of unknowns who are equally gifted at the same thing. (And do we detect a note of envy in all that? I don't think so, but I am often not my own best observer. For instance, was any of this worth sharing? Beats me.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55532501364780143.post-85834642952889806512013-01-01T16:17:43.697+00:002013-01-01T16:17:43.697+00:00I have been so blessed to have met you Pen.
