OH, the sweetness! I'm unfamiliar with her "first" name. (Curious of how it is pronounced and how chosen....Actually "nosy" is a more appropriate word, I guess.)
The Iceni (pronounced eye-see-knee) was the Celtic tribe headed up by Queen Boudica that led the uprising against the Roman invaders of the British Isles, about 60 years after Jesus was here (on Earth, I mean not in England!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudica
Kathryn - you sent me your comment twice (thank you so much!) so I didn't publish it the second time. I'm so sorry, I seem to have lost your email address - could you write to me via a comment here (I will not publish it) giving me your email address again so I can write back, and letting me know how you are - I have been praying into the situation and feelings you described a while ago, and I've been wondering how you are getting on. God's blessing on your day xx
She is truly "born love", Pen! I do not know if you would have seen the Carol Burnett Show, a comedian, in the 70's-80's. Near the very end of each show, she would pull on her ear as a way of saying 'hello" to her Grandmother. That's what Iceni seems to be doing in the picture. I envision a wonderful bond between the two of you. Enjoy!
She seems so tiny next to that hand! How much did she weigh? Also, envious of how much hair she has, as all three of my own kids and both grandkids were bald babies. One daughter did not have enough hair for even a pony tail until after her third birthday! Hope you are having time to bond with her (and spoil her brother) shut out the world for awhile! blessings,
:0) She is a little thing! That's her daddy's hand. We aren't sure of her weight as it was all a bit chaotic at the time, the midwives concentrating on getting Buzz to the hospital because of ill effects from blood loss, and they never got round to weighing Iceni. This we do know - she has been chugging away at her milk and had to have the straps loosened a bit on her car seat when we took her to church on Sunday!
You are a sweetheart! I must write a blog post soon! It's been a very hectic time, but not stuff one can/should post about really; family things. My mother-in-law from my first marriage close to death, my own mother needing more attention, more input needed at church because we shall be between pastors . . . So I have been scurrying about! Will write a new post over the weekend. Thank you so much for asking xxx
Welcome to this world little one! She is just precious :) m.

ReplyDeleteThey did weigh her, and she was 8 lb 9oz, but has since put on a few ounces.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, everyone. :-)
8lb 9oz! Gosh! Not as tiny as all that, then!
ReplyDeleteMissing you! Is everything OK?
