Komorebi’s
first supper party.
.
. . while the
kettle heats over the bioethanol flame and a
pot of what we call “stuff” (!) cooks on the little stove.
“Stuff” is a casserole of whatever vegetables
we have to hand, with herbs, sometimes grains or noodles – whatever there is,
but mostly vegetables.
Then
friends by the fire . . .
in the lamplit evening.
How absolutely wonderful, Pen! I'm thrilled for you. So serene....
ReplyDeleteSo nourishing in every way. xo

ReplyDeleteOK, I know it's probably a stupid question but I need to ask it anyway. :-D Do you cook the food in the house first and then put it on the stove to keep warm or does it cook on the stove OK?
ReplyDeleteLovely x
ReplyDeleteHi Debs, hi San :0)
ReplyDeleteThe food cooks fine on the stove, but it takes a while. It's possible to get the stove running really hot and cook things more quickly, but then it gets hotter than in advisable for those surroundings.
How pleasant, simple and satisfying.

It looks so warm & cozy; quiet and hospitable. Conducive to gentle conversation and/or comfortable silence.

ReplyDeleteYesterday I went to my local Christian bookshop and there was your book.!! So my husband bought it for me and I am trying very hard not to dip into it before Lent.
ReplyDeleteHeheh - just go for it! Read it now straight through as a story, then start again one day at a time for Lent. God bless you and your darling husband. Give him a thank-you kiss on the nose from me xx
ReplyDeleteJust an observation from another continent - We have white plastic lawn chairs identical to ones you are using, we have two tv dinner tables that look exactly the same as the one in use in Komorebi, my dutch oven is identical to yours other than color, mine is turquoise, and we have hurricane lamps that look just like yours. What a global economy we live in!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, those plastic lawn chairs, I always thought it would be fun to take one on a photo journey to remote, beautiful places on earth, and take the picture with the plastic chair center stage. As those white plastic chairs have invaded the entire planet!! LOL

Congratulations to you and your fine little hut for getting a bit of Tiny House fame. Not that you cafre much about fame....but it is nice that you're setting a good example of being brave enough to explore what is possible!
ReplyDeleteHi friends - blessings to you - waving!
ReplyDeleteYes - white plastic lawn chairs are second only to traffic cones in their bid to take over the world!
