  1. Hello Pen. The first person I spoke to, apart from God, was Iris, and she was so cheerful. "Good Morning Dahling" she lisped around her dummy. Who can be grumpy when faced with that?

My first child had a dummy, from which she was inseparable. We learned the wisdom of keeping several back-ups, because within the mystery of the universe exists a law that dummies are usually lost at around 10.30 at night, when every chemist is locked up tight and there is no hope until morning.

  3. Oh yes, I know that law from painful personal experience. Like socks, they simply disappear into a parallel universe somewhere. We have multiples in the car, my handbag, the bathroom - you get the picture. I must admit that she reminds me of an elderly Uncle who could talk with his cigarette hanging from the edge of his bottom lip - Iris does the same with the dummy. x
