Relinquishment

About eighteen months ago I finished writing a book about the faith practice which is my passion — that I believe to be foundational to all progress in any spiritual path — the art of relinquishment.

Writing this book has been a labour of love, really important to me. It could not have been made available without the unstinting generosity of Tony Collins's editorial input and Jonathan Roberts's formatting expertise and wonderful talent in cover design.

My heartfelt thanks also to Sr Elizabeth Rolfe-Thomas, Reverend Mother of the community of St John the Divine, and to the Revd Susan Creighton, Anchorite in the Diocese of Olympia, for their kindness in reading and commending my book. I am so grateful to them, and also to Sr Julia Bolton Holloway who read it and sent me her thoughtful and helpful comments.

It's finally ready and available as a Kindle book. It will also be coming out as a paperback, and I'll let you know when that's done.

This is the first book of our Humilis Hastings imprint.

It is available here on US Amazon and here on Amazon UK.

I do so hope you find it useful to your own faith practice.

If you found my books In Celebration of Simplicity and The Road of Blessing helpful, I think you might enjoy Relinquishment, too.

Yes, I am stoked too. How exciting and to think you had this up your sleeve, not a peep or mention - now we get to enjoy it too. The simplicity book has already been a revelation for me Pen so I look forward to reading this one as well. I shall go and order it now in the best way to get it to Australia. Thank you for the hard work and love and sacrifice involved from you and all those involved to bring it to us. YAY!! xxx

Silly me - it is only available in Kindle, so that will download immediately. I was hoping to order the paperback and will do that when you let us know it is available. Books such as this are better for me to read in the form of an actual book.

Yes, Tony prefers non-fiction in hard copy, too. I have got used to – and am thankful for — the quietly back-lit screen of the Kindle Paperwhite, but I do still very much miss the ability to flick back and forth and find things I read a couple of chapters back. I know there are always electronic pathways that make a good substitute for traditional methods, and I think it's a sign of growing old that I haven't bothered to learn. I just read less.
I hope you enjoy the book. Tony's still struggling with getting the cover for the paperback uploaded into the Amazon file. He and Jonathan have done all the electronic parts of it for me, for which I am so immensely grateful. If it had been left up to me, people would have got a PDF and nothing else!

Hi Pen,
I finished your book Relinquishment, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me realize my Christian life needs to be much more ethical, in ways I had never even considered before. I will write a review on Amazon as soon as I get my thoughts together. Thanks.
