Yes, and thank you for reading to us!
I watched in the dark of night, in complete silence, except for the occasional owl call...perfect.

There in the deepest darkness the infant light is born.

May I use this as the initial quote to a gratitude journal? One of the things I want to do this year is to make space for creativity and to link it to all the wonders and ruminations of life. Perhaps now, more then ever, a fresh start and outlook is called for. This would mark the perfect beginning.
Many thanks, Deb x

Having loved the Hawk and the Dove series for many years it was with great delight that I found 'Into the heart of Advent' at my local Christian bookshop. What a lovely Advent journey I have been on. Thank you so much for sharing your conversations with Jesus. I certainly feel I know him more and have many underlined passages and scribbles to take me into next year. Many blessings.

Dear Penelope,
Thank you so much for the wonderful Advent book. I have read, reflected and prayed my way through your beautifully inspired writing with laughter and also tears. it has been a moving and life changing experience for me on the Way.
2020 was a particularly painful and difficult year for everyone including myself. I feel I have hope for the year beginning now, having met Jesus again through you in a much deeper way. He is so much more real to me now than ever before. I could even go as far as saying I feel much closer to him today...and like him better :)
Thank you !
May the Lord continue to bless you and inspire you.

Hello Penelope
I have just finished your Advent Book, working with a dear friend in Paris and we absolutely loved it. Our study affected me greatly, thank you. I could see and hear Jesus and he came fully alive to me all through this amazing book.
Some years ago I wrote to you about your Monastery books and how wonderful they are. They must be the only books (other than the Bible) that I reread periodically. Always something to learn.
Your writing seems truly blessed.
So very grateful.
A blessed and good Year 2021, stay safe and well.
Madeleine

Thank you so much, Madeleine — how heart-warming and encouraging. It is so kind of you to write and let me know. In these times of turbulence and uncertainty, may you be blessed and protected. x

Hi Pen. Will you be making any more posts? I miss you. From Arlo

Hello, Arlo. Yes, I will be posting again. In the last couple of months I've been quite unwell, my mother has died, I have been finalising my relationship with the Methodist Church (that took a lot of thinking through!) and I have been focussing my output on looking after The Campfire Church on Facebook. I am not quite through that patch of turbulence, still having a few health issues and my mother's funeral coming up (relationships in my family of origin are very painful indeed, though the family I raised is loving and happy, thank God). I anticipate that by late January or early February I'll be posting again — meanwhile if you are on Facebook you can find us every Sunday at The Campfire Church.
Thank you for getting in touch. Waving to you, may you be blessed.

I’m missing your daily posts.

You might like to come along and see what we do at The Campfire Church on Facebook (see link in the comment above) — all our meetings for worship stay up for people to access later via the calendar on our page, so there's always plenty of food for thought to browse through.
I will be back to posting here more (again, see comment above), but not quite yet. Meanwhile, you might enjoy one of the books I've written (you can find them if you do a search on my name on Amazon), which are really just me thinking aloud, like these blog posts are.
May you be peaceful, may you be blessed, through these arduous times.
