NO to bombing in Syria

I am absolutely, completely, unshakeably opposed to the proposed UK airstrikes in Syria.

The last time (two years ago) our Prime Minister urged that we do this, the result would have been disastrous. If he’d had his way, Bashar Al Assad would have fallen and Daesh – the very people he wants us to bomb now  would be running the country, in control of the entire armed forces of Syria.

Bombing Syria would escalate violence, incite war, and inflame terrorism. Besides this, it would certainly cause death, suffering, injury and hardship to men women and children who are not members of Daesh, and whose lives are already made miserable by the cruelties of armed extremists.

NO
TO BOMBING IN SYRIA

NOT IN MY NAME.

So please to read this. I was asked, a couple of days ago, by a lady in our CHURCH what I thought, and I replied pretty much as you say. She looked horrified at me! I'm so sad to know that even some Christians are all for bombing. Linda J

I think what happens is that they are fed a shockingly edited story, and form their ideas accordingly. xx

I see that J Corbyn is taking a lot of flak for his "No to bombing" position. I think there are a few things that Jeremy and I are not really on the same page about. But I think on this, it is a deeply held lifelong belief and if he refuses to lead the Labour Party down this path, then the very least we should do is applaud the fact that he has continued to hold on to these beliefs despite the intense pressures he faces. For myself, I feel it will probably be playing into the hands of Isis, who are doing all they can to provoke war. And lets face it. weapons production is a multi million pound industry. Lots of evil forces are at work here - not just Isis.

A ray of hope in a grim political day, our Jeremy. xx
