Happy New Year

So much has changed and so much is lost.

The way forward looks both daunting and unclear.

But the watchers say change is coming and this is a time of hope.

There is still much disintegration advancing towards us, and sometimes perhaps we will lose our footing in the floodwater rapids.

Despair is always misplaced, though, and a waste of energy.

Our task is to hold our light steady and walk singing into the unknown.

What John Wesley said (his last words on this earth):

"The best of all is, God is with us."

"By thine unerring Spirit led

We shall not in the desert stray

We shall not full direction need

Nor miss our providential way;

As far from danger as from fear,

While Love, almighty Love is near." (Charles Wesley)

Happy New Year, friends. Celebrate what is beautiful, and good. Embrace kindness. Walk in hope. Let light find you. Choose wisely. Live simply and quietly. Grace guide you. Light is streaming into this world to transform and sustain you.

"Keep the faith, baby — you are the liberated zone." (Stephen Gaskin)

May God bless you in 2022.

I love your blessing at the end and as I read it in Australia on New Year’s Day I have copied it into my journal for 1st January.
I hope your year Penny has more light than previous years and that England becomes a fairer country and a better example to the world.

Amen to that! We need a change of government here. But whatever happens around us, each one of us bears the responsibility to make the best choice we can reach in the particular circumstances that frame our life. x

Happy New Year Pen, and thank you for sharing your wisdom as always. There is so much darkness I think we are being forced to search for the light. I like the thought that light might be seeking us too. Deb x

And it certainly is. A lot of the old stuff still to crumble, but I think the new may be in place. A scary year probably, but full of good hope. Our task is to hold firm our intention, and make choices consistent with what our hearts know to be true. x

Thank you for that blessing. I needed those reminders. I think I can easily and regularly celebrate what is beautiful and good. And I have made progress in embracing kindness. Walking in hope is still hit and miss. God be with you and your family, Ember. xoxo
