I'm so sorry,it's never easy to lose a fur baby! May he romp and play over the rainbow bridge.

So sorry to hear this. But now every time I hear thunder, I'll think, "Oh, that's Ted--purring up a storm!" Perhaps he's now prowling around Saint Gertrude's skirts. I just learned she's the patron saint of cats via another friend whose 16-year old cat Rudi died today also. Blessings.

So sorry to hear this. Is that what cats do? DO they just go away to die when they have had enough. (Sorry have always been a dog person)

They used to. In recent times, they having been more cossetted and kept at home, they are more often nursed through illness and end their life at the vets. Ted loathed the vets with a passion, and it is a great relief to us (and to him, had he known) that it ended in this simple and natural way.

Good for Ted! To die instinctively and in a place of one's own choosing and without diagnoses is the feather in the cap of a well-lived life.

That's how I feel, too. We were naturally anxious about him, and searched hard for him, asked our neighbours to check in their sheds etc, but he really does seem to have vanished without trace.
