730 things — Day 112 of 365

Uh-oh. Today on our lavender we found these dear little beetles asleep on the flowers.

Iridescent and shiny, utterly beautiful.

So we looked them up, and read about them, here.

The Royal Horticultural Society wants to know where they are, so I have filled in a form.

They are on the bird table now, waiting for hungry garden visitors. Perhaps this is why the sparrows are so keen on our lavender.

Meanwhile, also waiting but indoors, here are two pairs of shoes leaving my stash of belongings.

They are in a bag in the attic, waiting for my grandson's feet to grow into them, as these are the kind of shoes he wears.

Today I gave my son a quilted jacket. It was too big for me and he was so pleased.

Ah — I like that best, when someone else in the family (or among my friends) would like a thing I'm moving on. x

We too (in Norfolk) have been plagued by the rosemary beetle this summer. But after 3 weeks of diligent removal, I believe our lavender, sage and rosemary are clear now.
