The scars of Jesus

Thank you Pen. In recognising wounds so, I guess, empathy is born which hopefully leads to tolerance and kindness. It reminds me of the conker as a metaphor. The thick and prickly shell has to be broken wide open in order to release the shiny new seed of hope and new life. It seems we can only grow once we've been broken. The story you describe also seems to say that this is how we can recognise one another and that Jesus led the way in this; expecting perfection and the return to what was is actually missing the point.
