Hello Pen. I am really enjoying this and you have been a blessing in my very long day. I really love Esme and I chuckled all the way through at your dry observational humour. Oh yes, I recognise so much of this story. That you should have to re-record 5 times made me all the more grateful for this gentle wind down part of my day. Do you have a label on your computer with a flower and the word 'breathe?'
Thank you x Deb

Heheh — I don't, but I think of this calligraphy:

Glad you're enjoying the story. xx

I am in agreement with Deb that I am so grateful for your perseverance in recording. I love the story and the gentle unfolding of the characters and the village. No Dan Brown for me! Grandma Maud would have said "only boring people are bored." I think that marshmallows are an excellent tonic. I have 2 or 3 when I need a burst of energy or a reboot too.

Just a few miles along the coast from us is a small family firm that makes the world's most delicious marshmallows. They are also very expensive, which is the other half of their gift to humanity, because if we could afford to buy as many as we wanted to eat I think every woman in our house would look like a marshmallow in short order.

I do like Dan Brown, but more for the interesting thought behind his stories — Mary Magdalene and the origin of "sub rosa" and Leonardo da Vinci and so forth — than for the fast-pacing of the narrative.

Now you have me intrigued. Tom has been insisting that I would like the stories and the details about an alternative ending to the story of Jesus but I have never read him or seen the movie. Those marshmallows sound seriously good.

Oh, yes — they're good! (The Dan Brown stories, I mean, but also the marshmallows)
